A musical career that encompasses a multitude of styles, from
classics to jazz and ethnic music to rock, establishes Dennis
as a foundation for the group. He is a past member of the Milwaukee
Symphony Jazz Ensemble and has led many groups, including a big
band, rock and jazz bands. Dennis’ credits include recordings
with his own group and as a sideman for a variety of established
artists. |
Tom
Newburg
Co-Leader
Saxophone and Flute
Tom is a creative soloist who is very able in many styles,
from jazz to blues to contemporary music. A widely respected
musician, Tom is repeatedly requested by many performers for
appearances throughout the Midwest. He has worked shows for
the Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Johnny Mathis, Mel Torme,
Aretha Franklin, to mention just a few. He also performs on
a selected basis with the Milwaukee Symphony for many of their
Pop Artist Series concerts.

Todd
Holmes
Bass and Vocals
Todd displays his virtuosity with his bass guitar on virtually
all styles of music. A much sought-after singer, his rich,
dynamic vocals have appeared on many local and national radio
and television commercials. Todd is also a prolific songwriter,
having written and recorded well over 100 songs. Todd’s
bands have opened for Ike and Tina Turner, John McLaughlin
and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Blue Oyster Cult, Edgar Winter’s
White Trash, Maynard Ferguson, and many others. |
Jeff
Pietrangelo
Trumpet and Percussion
Jeff, a seasoned performer, was the 1999 WAMI (Wisconsin Area
Music Industry) Award winner for outstanding brass/reed player.
In addition to playing lead trumpet and percussion with Cityscape,
Jeff continues to do section work with big bands, pop artist
performances, and Broadway shows. Jeff’s credits include
extensive national performances with recording artists Matrix,
as well as playing for numerous national acts, including Aretha
Franklin, the Temptations, Johnny Mathis and Henry Mancini.
Jeff is also a highly regarded recording musician. |
Bill
Stone
Guitar and Vocals
Bill Stone has received recognition for his blues and jazz
playing. While playing with the Leroy Airmaster Blues Band,
the band was awarded four WAMI Awards for best blues band.
Bill was nominated for best guitarist in 2000. He has performed
at major festivals, as well as on radio and television. Bill
is also a well-known educator and has taught at the Wisconsin
Conservatory of Music, MATC, UW-Madison Summer Music Camp,
and is presently teaching in the Milwaukee Public School system.

Tom
Utschig
Drums, Percussion and Vocals
Tom has over 38 years of experience in music, which includes
teaching, performance, and as a clinician. He earned his Masters
of Music Degree in Jazz Pedagogy from the University of Miami.
Tom's performance credits include Don Rickles, Joan Rivers,
Kai Winding, Buddy Miles and blues legend Luther Allison, and
he has opened for Jaco Pastorius, Richard Elliot, and many
others. In 1999 Tom started TUtsch Tone Productions, a 16-track
digital recording studio. His knowledge and mastery of many
distinct styles of music provide the ultimate compliment to
the varied repertoire of Cityscape. |
